We are delighted to announce that the Choir of St. John’s, Cambridge, one of the internationally renowned College choirs of the University, is returning to Luxembourg with Thomas Trotter, the equally renowned organist, to give a concert “A Cambridge Christmas” at the Philharmonie on Wednesday, 17 December at 7.30pm. The Choir and organist were last here in 2023 when they gave an outstanding performance to a delighted audience that filled the concert hall. A feature of the concert was the a cappella Gents of St. John’s ensemble who performed a carol in the style of The King’s Singers.
As in 2023, the Philharmonie has kindly allowed the Cambridge Society to organise a post-concert reception in the Grand Foyer of the Philharmonie to enable Cambridge alumni in Luxembourg and the members of the Choir to mix in an agreable social setting. This year we are opening the reception to members of the Oxford Society and the British-Luxembourg Society. We will be joined by Her Excellency Joanne Olivier, the British Ambassador, and Philharmonie representatives. The Gents of St. John’s have kindly agreed to further entertain the participants.

Members of the Cambridge Society and their guests who have tickets for the concert are invited to attend the reception. The ticket price will be €35-40 (to be confirmed). To book your place(s), please email President@cambridgesociety.lu with a copy to Secretary@cambridgesociety.lu confirming the number of places and that you have tickets for the concert. We will confirm your reservation and provide full final details of the reception.
If you still need concert tickets, do not delay as they are selling fast
We look forward to seeing you at the concert and the reception. It will be a great evening.
