Once again about 20 Light and Dark Blues – with Light Blues in the majority! – gathered on 27 August in Friture Armand at the Schueberfouer to enjoy the excellent dishes served by David Wagener and his team. Centre stage were the traditional whole battered haddock with chips and salad, and the cod fillet for those who didn’t fancy negotiating their way around the bones of the whole fish, while some participants chose other dishes from the extensive menu. Your correspondant always enjoys the challenge of of the “Full Monty”.
The “convives” were indeed very convivial, with lively conversation continuing throughout the evening. We were pleased to welcome some members for whom this was their first experience of the Fair. As always, it was all most enjoyable.
The Schueberfouer is generally considered to mark the end of summer in Luxembourg, and after all the hot and dry weather we have experienced this year, it was perhaps appropriate that as we left the restaurant the first drops of rain started to fall, building later in the night into a fully-fledged thunderstorm!
I have lost track of how many fish dinners we have had at the Schueberfouer, it must be over ten, and we will certainly be back again in 2027!
