The Cambridge Society of Luxembourg and the Oxford University Society offer practice interviews to applicants to Cambridge or Oxford University who are resident in Luxembourg or in the Grande Région. Past applicants have found these practice interviews very useful preparation for the real interviews which take place in December. The practice interviews are held during the last two weeks of November and like the real interviews are administered online. If you have applied to either university and would like to have a practice interview please email your request detailing the course of study which you hope to pursue and attaching a pdf copy of your full UCAS application form including your personal statement. Your request should be sent to jos.vanbommel@uni.lu and steve.brabbs@hotmail.com, with a copy to President@cambridgesociety.lu.
The UCAS deadline for applications to Oxford or Cambridge is 15th October, so please send your request for a practice interview as soon as you submit your UCAS application, and in any event by Sunday 2nd November. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL YOU RECEIVE AN INVITATION FOR A REAL INTERVIEW FROM THE UNIVERSITY TO REQUEST A PRACTICE INTERVIEW. The universities send out interview invitations to selected candidates late in November for interviews which begin early in December, so this leaves very little time for us to arrange practice interviews for all students requesting them.
We will do our best to organize an interview for you but we cannot promise to serve all applicants: it depends on the availability of suitable subject interviewers. Don’t worry if you don’t hear anything definite back from us before mid-November. We have to plan based on the number of applicants in each subject and identify and coordinate schedules with volunteer interviewers with the right academic backgrounds.
